Overnight, the good people at The BBC officially announced the name of the actress who will take over as Doctor Who‘s new companion in the upcoming season of the show.
From next year, Pearl Mackie will travel through space and time with Peter Capaldi‘s Doctor, replacing Jenna Coleman, who left the long-running series in 2015.
Mackie is currently appearing in a West End production of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time, and will play a character named Bill on the show.
BBC America released a clip of Mackie and Capaldi in action, which is heavy on Back To The Future jokes and confirms that Daleks are still kind of bullshit. Enjoy:
