After Stranger Things blew the heck up earlier this year, an internet conspiracy theory took hold that bad boy Steve (portrayed by Joe Keery) is really the father of Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz) from Parks & Recreation.
A surprising number of the facts check out – both shows are set in the state of Indiana, the former in the early ’80s, the latter in the early part of this decade. The characters share similar hair and a similar overall attitude, and … yup, that’s enough to convince us.
Overnight, James Corden aired a special investigation into the theory, and got Steve and Jean-Ralphio together to hash out the truth in front of an intrepid Entertainment Tonight reporter.
The pair perfectly mimicked each-other’s gestures and mannerisms and, faced with the indisputable evidence before them, bailed on the interview for a little father-son bonding time. Watch, if your hearts can handle it:
