Yo, so the major ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ trailer was released on Thursday last week, during Olympic coverage.
Everyone flipped their motherlickin’ shit, because you see Darth Vader and hear ‘The Imperial March‘ and omgomgomgomgomgomgomg.
*exhales*
Anyway, the international trailer has now been released, and it adds some pretty fkn cool details the first trailer omitted.
In last week’s trailer, Rebellion leader Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) tells Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), “We have a mission for you. A major weapon’s test is imminent. We need to know how to destroy it.”
In the international trailer, more detail is added to this convo. Mothma says to Erso, “We have intercepted an encoded Imperial transmission. It indicates that a major weapons test is imminent.”
Then, Rebel intelligence officer Cassian Andor adds, “The message was sent by your father.”
Okay, so we know. And we’re gonna tell you. But if you do not want to know, look away now, fool.

So, during an interview, Mads Mikkelsen let slip that his character Galen is Jyn’s father:
“I read the script and it was very beautiful, and Felicity is playing this lovely, strong woman and I play her father.”
He then realised his mistake, and added, “And that was too much. I’m sorry.”
So, with the trailer telling us a message has come through to the Rebellion from Jyn’s papa bear, that means he’s either an Imperial traitor, or he’s being kept prisoner and found a way to sneakily send out a message.
The new international trailer also gives us a way better look at the badass-as-hell Deathtroopers. Y’know, the all-black Stormtrooper-lookin’ buggers. These blokes:
