WATCH: Ronny Chieng Dismantles Fox News’ Stupidly Racist ‘Chinatown’ Report

Trevor Noah has had a somewhat bumpy start to his Daily Show tenure. Sure, it was always going to be a massive task to follow Jon Stewart, but it sometimes feels like Noah is still trying to find the show’s voice.

That being said, if we get more Ronny Chieng, that voice might turn out to be pure, white-hot rage.

ICYMI, a recent segment on The O’Reilly Factor – one of Fox News’ tentpole conservative programs, and a looongtime subject of The Daily Show’s interrogations – featured reporter Jesse Watters interviewing people in New York City’s Chinatown.

It was a goddamn shitshow of tired stereotypes and clumsy casual racism – even moreso when you realise Watters was there to follow up on the recent Presidential debate’s references to China. The country, China. The industrial powerhouse, China. Not a small cultural enclave on the other side of the planet.

“Chinatown is nothing like China, they have nothing to do with each other. That’s like if they brought up women’s rights so I decided to go over to Fox News to get some opinions,” Chieng spat.

Sure, the original segment did a good job of roasting itself due to its comically passe references, but Chieng managed to tear it down even further.
“Everyone’s been wondering who’s gonna be the target of 2016’s worst racism. I didn’t even know Asians were in the running.

Oh, and by the way, if you’re going to be racist, at least get your stereotypes right, you ignorant sack of shit.”
Chieng then visited Chinatown and actually spoke to people about the election. People who, you know, could actually communicate with him.
Woe betide the next fool to make a barrel-scraping gag about karate. Watch:
