WATCH: Rick & Morty’s Justin Roiland Goes All In, Method Acts With Tequila

Is this perhaps why ‘Rick and Morty‘ season three is taking so damn long?

Adult Swim uploaded a video over the weekend showing Justin Roiland, a.k.a. one-half of the creators of ‘Rick and Morty’ and also the voice of one Rick Sanchez, method acting his way through a particularly wasted scene in season three.

“The character of Rick is a very high functioning alcoholic,”
says Dan Harmon, Roiland’s co-creator and dude who eternally looks like he’s hiding a spaghetti stain somewhere on his person. “In episode 304, we need to see him get especially drunk, so I encouraged Justin to method act.”

“The first thing I told [Roiland] was ‘Don’t have tequila’,” says associate producer Sydney Ryan. “And then of course he had tequila, and liquor just adds a whole new aspect to Justin.”

What happens next will absolutely not shock you.

WABBA LUBBA DUB DUB. Still no word on season three, but hey – we’re used to it by now.
