WATCH: Netflix’s New Dramedy ‘To The Bone’ Is An Honest Look At Anorexia

Netflix really look they’re on a hot run of greenlighting TV shows and movies that are 100% sure to stir up a lil’ bit of controversy. First there was the shitstorm around 13 Reasons Why and its depiction of suicide, and now we’ve got  To The Bone – which looks like a pretty heavy dramedy about eating disorders.

Lily Collins plays Ellen, a young womanwith severe anorexia who checks herself into a group home as a last ditch effort to beat the condition. She’s counselled by unconventional doctor Keanu Reeves, who looks like he has not made as single attempt to even slightly change his look from John Wick 2.
It’s directed by Marti Noxon (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, UnReal) in her directorial debut. She also wrote it, basing it off her own experience with eating disorders.

It’s a film – not a TV series – in case you were wondering how this is gonna work.
Looks interesting. It drops on July 14.
