Saturday Night Live‘s Season 40 finale has just aired in the US, with legendary Louis CK hosting and sending off SNL’s biggest season yet.
“My kids are like Palestine and Israel, and I’m America,” was potentially one of the safest jokes in Louis CK’s cold open of SNL, a telling measurement for how jokes quickly escalated within nine minutes. Never one to kowtow to the politically correct, or pretend to do any brand of comedy other than his own, Louis CK waxes lyrical on his own “mild racism”, the fights that play out between his kids, the neighbourhood child molester from his childhood, and the fucked up risk child molesters inherently take.
Make no mistake – this brand of comedy is for the Larry Davids of the world, and is equal parts cringe as it is brilliant. The monologue has already polarised Twitter, garnering both praise and criticism:
In other news, Louis CK is on SNL doing what he does best; making you laugh & then immediately think “I am definitely going to hell now.”

#LouieCK said he quit @twitter b/c it made him “feel bad” … like his #SNL monologue comparing molesting teen boys to eating a Mounds Bar?

I LOVE Louis CK and that was a great #snl40finale BUT that monolouge belonged in a stand-up for HBO not as a opener #snl
