Let’s call it an early contender for catch of the year: a man in China’s Guangdong Province caught a year-old baby falling from an apartment building during a rainstorm.
According to reports, the child fell out the window of the second storey apartment while looking for his mother. CCTV cameras caught two local men, known only as Mr Li and Mr Hu, rush to the kid’s assistance. Aside from the whole catching a slippery wet baby while shirtless and presumably slippery yourself, it’s also impressive because, well, who walks around looking at the sky in heavy rain?
In an interview with Reuters, Mr Li said “I didn’t think too much at the time. I was just afraid of failing to catch him. Some people put down cardboard to avoid serious injuries to the baby if I failed to catch him.”
