In the days since rumours first emerged that the 20-year-old reality TV star and makeup demigod is expecting, fans have forensically examined her latter-day social media presence and the Keeping Up With The Kardashians ten-year anniversary show for clues either way. So far, no luck, but their relentless efforts to find the truth are stunning.
That fervour extends to Ryan Seacrest, who shot Kylie’s mum Kris Jenner a text message before filming Live Kelly And Ryan, and eagerly awaited a message from the family’s matriarch. In a piece of telly that is worthy of some post-post-modernist critique, Seacrest described receiving ‘this contact is typing a message’ bubbles while walking out on stage. Then, he discovered Kris Jenner had sent him a message about the supposed pregnancy, and excitedly revealed “Kylie’s not confirming anything.”
Tense silence gave way to dissatisfied “oooh” from the audience, leaving us wondering if a) if Kylie will indeed pop a sprog, and b) how this rumour has so precisely kidney-punched the entertainment news industry. Wild scenes, folks.
Meanwhile, an unnamed former rep of Caitlyn Jenner reportedly told The Sun that Caitlyn was informed of Kylie’s pregnancy a while ago. There are almost too many dubious elements of that claim to count, but it’s probably just as useful as mining Instagram for clues.
