WATCH: Justin Timberlake Talks *That* Double Denim Suit With ‘The Project’

It must be pretty sweet being Justin Timberlake; unlike every single other member of NSYNC, he somehow got away completely unharmed. He jumped off a sinking ship that was getting dated very, very quickly and landed on a boat (might be stretching this metaphor a bit far) of musical success and some good film roles (‘The Social Network‘) and some bad film roles (‘Southland Tales‘).
It feels like only a few years ago he was singing songs almost entirely about nothing in videoclips set in space, and now, here he is, playing a troll in a movie about trolls called ‘Trolls‘.
He went on ‘The Project‘ tonight to discuss mostly the movie which he was there to promote (duh), but they got into a few nuggets of goodness, like Timberlake‘s disbelief when Waleed Aly attempted to describe NSYNC as cool:
Aly: “NSYNC were cool right, then you went solo and somehow became cooler than that.”

Timberlake: “Did you see the outfits we wore? Are we talking about the same NSYNC? Thanks, I’ll make sure the other four guys each hear that. You know it was such a crazy time and the world was different, the music industry was different. It was just a different time.”
Asked what he knows about the industry now that he didn’t know when he was in NSYNC:
“That if you wear denim on denim it will get documented. You know what, I don’t think even I could bring that back.”
Let’s take a minute to really, really bask in that outfit.
Amazing. Truly, truly amazing. You can watch the interview right here, NSYNC talk starts at around 3:23:
