WATCH: Jonah Hill & Miles Teller Get Strapped Up In The ‘War Dogs’ Trailer

We’ve all made dumb, bad decisions in our lives that have lead to some pretty loose situations, but I sincerely doubt any of you have cooked it so badly you wound up flogging guns in a warzone.

The ridiculous true-life story of how two American bros in their mid-20s – through sheer dumb luck and a couple of really terrible decisions – found themselves thrust into the role of major arms dealers in Afghanistan with a multi-million dollar Pentagon contract is inarguably peak “HOLY SHIT HOW THE FUCK DID WE GET HERE.”
And owing to the fact that the funniest and best stories are always true, the whole saga is being turned into a big-time Hollywood comedy film.
War Dogs is based on the excellent Rolling Stone profile of David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli from 2011, and follows the witless-yet-ambitious stoners who kind of stumbled their way into one of the world’s most dangerous industries: actual war.
Miles Teller and Jonah Hill star in the adapted film-version, directed by comedy maestro Todd Phillips (in his first non-Hangover directorial effort since 2010’s Due Date).
The trailer for it dropped earlier today, and be damned if it doesn’t look like a real fun little time (or, y’know, about as fun as a film set about weapons dealers on the frontline in an active warzone could be).

The cast also features Bradley Cooper in a small role (who is also serving as one of the film’s producers).
It’s due for release in August.
