Watch Jason Segel Take On David Foster Wallace In First Trailer For ‘The End Of The Tour’

Following its acclaimed debut at Sundance in January this year, James Ponsoldt‘s bold resurrection of the iconic, late American author David Foster Wallace, ‘The End Of The Tour‘, has finally dropped its moving first trailer.

Following DFW on a 1996 book tour of his magnum opus ‘Infinite Jest‘, accompanied by Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg), ‘The End Of The Tour’ acts as an adaptation of Lipsky’s memoir of the same name. Jason Segel has gamely taken on what is—arguably—his first serious role, chucking a Matthew McConaughey in a performance that might not earn him an Oscar nod, but will definitely come close.

Taking on the legendary David Foster Wallace uniform, signature egotism subdued by insecurity, and somehow absolutely nailing the author’s unmistakable twang – Jason Segel? You done good.

‘End Of The Tour’ is currently completing its festival circuit in the US, before a limited Northern Hemisphere Summer release. No word on an Australian release yet.
