Ahead of next year’s Melbourne world premiere, DreamWorks have unveiled the hyper-realistic fire-breathers contained within their $20 million stage production of How To Train Your Dragon. Let’s see how believable robot dragons can be! Below, but one example of the 24 animatronic dragons DreamWorks created in conjunction with Global Creatures, the team behind the Walking with Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular. Film characters Nadder, Gronckle, Nightmare, Toothless the Nightfury and Red Death will all feature, move across more than two planes and breathe torrents of dry ice alongside an 80-strong cast of viking and villagers. “In this state-of-the-art production fire-breathing dragons with wingspans of up to 40 feet will soar overhead,” says the event’s website “immersing audiences into a magical and mythical world of Vikings and Dragons,”.
