WATCH: Game Of Thrones’ Long-Lost Son Gendry Returns In Horror Parody

When we last saw Gendry (Joe Dempsie), the last remaining bastard of the late Robert Baratheon, he was row row rowing his boat away from Dragonstone desperately in search of a plot. That was all the way back in the season three finale in 2013, and his complete and total no-show for three seasons since hasn’t gone unnoticed by the internet.

Row, row, row your boat
Across the Narrow Sea
Aimlessly, aimlessly, aimlessly, aimlessly
It sucks to be Gendry

One enterprising young internet dweller with a lot of free time and access to Final Cut Pro (the rich man’s iMovie) has cut together Gendry’s plot line into a trailer for a horror film – with a ridiculously long name:

‘Gendry: The Bastard of Blackwater II: Beginnings: Robert’s Revenge’

Ooooookay. While one could argue that Gendry’s story is essentially a horror story already – abused, on-the-run, captured, almost-tortured, on-the-run, captured, free-for-like-two-fkn-seconds, manipulated, sexually assaulted, and then on-the-run AGAIN from fear of being burnt alive – this thing is pretty clever, and manages to turn what are some very dark scenes + themes into something a whole lot darker.

THAT END THOUGH. Coming soon? – Low key lost it. But… is he actually? [SPOILERS] If The Hound‘s dramatic reappearance teaches us anything, it’s that Game of Thrones producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff aren’t afraid to reintroduce us to characters long after the audience has moved past their plot lines.

And with Cersei‘s trial looking the way it is, it might very well come out that Tommen, as the product of incest, is not the true and rightful king, and then BAM! Gendry comes rowing into King’s Landing, ready to give running the Seven Kingdoms a big ol’ whack until Daenerys rocks up probably one episode later.

TBC.
