Watch: Full Trailer for David Fincher’s ‘Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’

An extended followup trailer – and a rather comprehensive one at that – for David Fincher’s remake of the 2009 Swedish adaptation of Steig Larsson’s kolossal (that’s Swedish for ‘massive’) novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has been released.

The trailer performs a kind of ‘Millenium Trilogy: 101′ introduction for the uninitiated viewer unfamiliar with Larsson’s novel or the original adaptation, which centers around affable-looking odd-couple, journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) and disturbed hacker and all around nice lady, Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara, Social Network alumni), who team up to solve a murder/disappearance case that occured forty years prior. How’s that for a Cold Case?

The trailer certainly promises a lot, what with the pedigree of both director, cast, and source material (not to mention a soundtrack from Academy Award winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross); what remains to be seen, however, is whether or not Fincher’s Hollywood take on the unbelievably grim narrative can achieve the kind of internationell framgång ( ‘international success’) of the novel and its critically acclaimed native tongue adaptation. Brush up on your Swedish, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is set for release December 26th 2011, just in time for your cheeriest Christmas break ever.
