Watch: First Six Minutes of ‘Sucker Punch’

“Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared.” This, the bi-line to Zach Snyder‘s hotly hyped Sucker Punch – and this, a hindsight caveat for Warner Bros. who suffered a terrible opening weekend for the film, grossing just $16M. Well short of the $82M budget.

So what does a cashed-up studio like Warner Bros. do when they’re in dire need of a bail out? They release the first six-minutes in a frenzied attempt to seduce film fans into the second weekend round. It’s hard to debate the efficaciousness of this technique since a 20% Rotten Tomatoes rating has pretty much ensured that tech-savvy tight arses will indulge in some form of piracy before they commit to the stub and popcorn.

It seems that Warner Bros. have changed up the game plan with the second trailer – eschewing the erotic techniques employed in the first offering – a technique thoroughly enjoyed by Youtube users. Check out the new trailer below, which is accompanied by the Eurythmics remix of the Annie Lennox-penned ‘Sweet Dreams’.
