WATCH: Elaine Benes Has No Time For Bernie Sanders’ Yada Yada On ‘SNL’

One minute. Two characters. Three timelines.

The first of the three: face value. Saturday Night Live’s cold open imagines the most New York scenario possible, by pitting New Yorker / Seinfeld’s Elaine Benes against New Yorker Bernie Sanders. Ahead of the New York Democratic Primary. On a stage, live from New York.

The second: a reunion between two of Seinfeld’s most essential components. Bernie Sanders here, of course, is played again by the inimitable Larry David. The same Larry David who wished Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Elaine into existence.

The third: it’s a stretch, but why the hell don’t we throw away Elaine entirely, and see her as Louis-Dreyfus’ other talisman, Veep’s Selina Meyer? It’d make a hell of a lot of sense to see those two duke it out at a debate.

Anyway, yada yada yada, SNL has been pretty bloody sweet of late, and this tid-bit is no exception. Get schvitzy below:
