Despite the fact that I still haven’t forgiven the production for stealing all the goddamned residents carparks behind the Northcote Social Club when they were filming part of season three back in 2012, forcing me to park on a shitty nearby road in a 2hr spot where I watched an ocean of extras being ushered into the pub whilst Eddie Perfect punched out a dart and stared at me the entire time, Channel Ten‘s highly beloved rollercoaster of emotions ‘Offspring‘ remains one of the benchmarks of current Australian TV drama.
The show is gearing up to premiere its sixth season – the first new episodes of the show to air since August 2014 – and was been filming in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne all throughout late April and May.
Channel Ten have begun airing promos to hype the arrival of the new season, and the latest one to hit them internets hints at the ~drama~ to come for Nina and the rest of her wee little fam.
The network has clearly found a winning formula in “reminding people of the literal mountain of shit that Asher Keddie‘s lead character Nina Proudman has gone through” plus “Taylor Swift song,” which is as easy a miner of tears as you’re ever likely to see.
The new teaser trailer hints at a giant bombshell for the Proudman family and maybe love but definitely loss and oh god HURRY UP AND AIR ALREADY.
Ten have been typically tight-lipped about exactly when the new season will hit screens, but you can definitely expect to see it before the year is over.
