WATCH: Celebrities Dramatically Read Out The Lyrics To The Bieb’s ‘Sorry’

Sonofabitch Justin Bieber‘s “Sorry” is a hot fkn banger. And the fact that it’s from the Bieb makes it so much better AND worse in equal measure.

The beat is dope as hell, the film clip that went with it is appropriately rad, the melody is an absolute ear-burner, and Bieb’s vocal performance is remarkably solid.
A+ production all round, really.
But the lyrics carry with them a repentant remorsefulness that belie the track’s dance floor-filling enormity (fkn run at me, Pitchfork).
Taken by themselves, and delivered in the pained tone they deserve, and we start to get a very different picture of things.
And who better to deliver the words in that manner than literally all your favourite actors.
29 of them, in fact, gathered together to read out the lyrics to the song in the way that only those who have mastered the thespian craft could. Vanity Fair gathered the enormous motley crew together, which features, in order, the following:
Jon Hamm, John Legend, Aldis Hodge, John Krasinski, Don Cheadle, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Chelsea Handler, Gabrielle Union, Zosia Mamet, Jesse Plemons, Kathryn Hahn, Harley Quinn Smith, Rebecca Hall, Thomas Middleditch, Armie Hammer, Lily-Rose Depp, Elisabeth Moss, Natasha Lyonne, Greta Gerwig, Maya Rudolph, Nick Jonas, Octavia Spencer, Jenny Slate, Kate Beckinsale, Ellen Page, Allison Janney, Chloë Sevigny, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Judd Apatow.
Seriously, if you can’t find even a small skerrick of fun in amongst all that, you clearly need to do so life re-evaluation.
Highlights include:
  • Jon Hamm absolutely lying about not knowing the song.
  • Thomas Middleditch’s English accent.
  • Judd Apatow’s overt Jewishness.
  • Jenny Slate’s ad-libbing.
  • Natasha Lyonne. Just in general. Her existence is a highlight.
Now if someone could just stitch this dialogue back over the beat, we’d be in serious business.
