The pop culture connection is tenuous – or elementary – at best, and perhaps a more apt numerically-challenged character might’ve been his portrayal of Little Charles in August: Osage County, but that doesn’t mean watching Benedict Cumberbatch learn to count and differentiate between apples and oranges on Sesame Street with a little help from puppets Murray-arty and The Count is any less charming for it.
‘Benedict Sherlock’ is the latest in a series of otherwise masterful zeitgeist collaborations from the children’s education stalwart, including brilliant and informative parodies of Homeland, The Hunger Games, films set in Middle Earth and tie-ins with both Game of Thrones and Usher’s entire discography.
