WATCH: Aubrey Plaza’s Very Real Basketball Team Is Getting A Very Real Doco

Say what you want about Aubrey Plaza, but no one can deny the fact that she’s keeping things interesting.

The former Mrs. Janet Snakehole has a wildly varied career already in the can, after bursting onto the scene a few years back with roles in Parks & Recreation, Funny People and Scott Pilgrim vs the World.
Also, she’s got a social basketball team that just scored its own documentary.
Seriously.
The NBC-backed streaming comedy hub Seeso has picked up the doco film about the team, which goes by the name of The Pistol Shrimps. And when we say that the team is very serious and real, we mean it. They’ve got their own Twitter pageInstagram accountFacebook fan page, and podcast, which takes the form of comedians Matt Gourley and Mark McConville literally recording commentary and play-by-play of the Shrimps’ games.
The all-female side sports a lineup of LA-based funny people, including the likes of Plaza, Amanda Lund, Maria Blasucci, and Angela Trimbur, and they have an exceptionally strict “NO HATERZ” policy that is enforced at all times.
The doco, simply titled The Pistol Shrimps, focuses on the side’s 2015 season and how the “ragtag team of trash-talking, hard fouling, wisecracking women bring an edge to the game” whilst they “navigate their careers as writers, musicians, actors, comedians, moms, and wives.
You can peep a trailer for the documentary, which was directed by Brent Hodge who helmed the recent ‘I Am Chris Farley‘ right sodding now.

No word yet on when Seeso will premiere the film (the company swooped on the distro rights to it after it screened at the Tribeca Film Festival) or, indeed, when Seeso will be “legally” available to use in Australia.
Until then, go buy a Pistol Shrimps shirt maybe. Real things that do exist.
NO HATERZ.
