The parents of ‘Star Trek’ actor Anton Yelchin, who was killed in a freak accident by his own car, have delivered a press conference to announce they are suing Fiat Chrysler.
Yelchin was trapped by his own car and killed, after his Jeep Grand Cherokee in ‘park’ malfunctioned and rolled back down his driveway.
The car manufacturer has already had similar lawsuits against them regarding the issue of faulty gear shifts, and Yelchin’s parents Viktor and Irina have stated that they are filing the lawsuit so ‘no other family has to experience what they have’.
The lawsuit documents claim that Yelchin suffered greatly after impact:
“Yelchin was crushed and lingered alive for some time, trapped and suffocating until his death.”

Yelchin passed away without a will, and leaving behind a $1.4 million estate, which his parents have filed to become administrators of.
