Watch A Teaser For The Amanda Knox Inspired ‘Face Of An Angel’ Starring Cara Delevingne

Variety have revealed a teaser for a trailer (#smdh) for the Amanda Knox-inspired psychological thriller The Face Of An Angel, directed by Michael Winterbottom (The Killer Inside Me, 9 Songs) and starring Daniel Bruhl (Rush, Inglorious Basterds), Kate Beckinsale (Kate Beckinsale’s New Face) and your bi-curious Instagram spirit animal Cara Delevingne (Eyebrows, Street Styles).
A fictional adaptation of American journalist Barbie Latza Nadeau’s “Angel Face: Sex, Murder and the Inside Story of Amanda Knox”, The Face of an Angel takes its cues from the ongoing investigation surrounding the tragic murder of 21-year-old British student Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy, in 2007 and its ensuing media circus.
The case this week took another dramatic turn after a second guilty verdict carrying a 25-28 incarceration period was delivered for Kercher’s roommate Knox and her erstwhile boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito; a third guilty party, Rudy Guede, is already in prison for 16 years on account of his involvement in Kercher’s stabbing, which reportedly eventuated when she either rejected their advances to play a sordid sex game or do her chores. Both Knox and Sollecito had previously been imprisoned for a year before being acquitted, with the former potentially facing extradition back to Italy to face the charges brought against her for the second time.
The Face of an Angel follows the same narrative tack, with Bruhl commissioned to write a film about the trial based on Beckinsale’s memoir. Delevingne plays his unrequited love interest who apparently “provides solace to him and acts as a guide to his own heart.” The film, unlike the case, is now in post-production.
