Watch A Not Terrible Web Series About Hipsters

Mocking hipsters is not a particularly difficult practice. People even do it unintentionally. But while the majority of LOLs come at the expense of fixie-riding inner-city types, the subset known for their salty beards, titled fedoras and White Revolver membership cards has thus far escaped the satire they so sorely deserve. Until now.

Conceived and written by Nick Boshier (best known as Trent from Punchbowl) and Sydney Director Christiaan Van Vuuren, “Hipsters” is a web series about two vacuous Bondi types with their own sustainable fashion label and no clue about anything. How Not To Make It In Australia is something they should have definitely considered calling it. Van Vuuren explains the series as “taking the piss out of all those Johnny Bondi hipsters that we all know,” and from the very first lines uttered – “I just love the lifestyle in Bondi. It’s like hedonism and health in this perfect harmony, like a vodka protein shake or something.” – we knew exactly who he was talking about. Watch below.
