Warnie Calls Waleed Aly “Smug”, “Arrogant” & “A Dick” After ‘The Project’

Earlier this week, a national tragedy occurred when Shane Warne was voted off I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! far too early. This country has gone to the dogs.

The small, silver lining of this grievous oversight was that Warnie appeared on ‘The Project‘ last night and was not at all happy to be questioned about the troubled Shane Warne Foundation, which shut down in January citing “unwarranted speculation” about its distribution of funds.

“We do have to talk about the issue of your charity because of course you were going to donate money to that charity, there’s been the audit, and of course it wraps up next week,” said The Project‘s Waleed Aly towards the end of the interview, after learning that Carmen Electra was going to slide into Warnie’s DMs imminently.

“You’re about to land back in Australia and land right back in the middle of that issue. What are you doing about that the moment you get back home?”

It was here that Warnie’s entire demeanor dropped faster than his bowling. He launched into a defence of his failed charity, saying that they “have done nothing wrong” and are “very, very proud of what we have been able to achieve” – but not before comparing his experience to a reality television show to the U.S.‘s most controversial detention facility.

“I have been in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in isolation for six weeks so I have no idea what’s going on there at the moment,” he said. “I’ve done 13 hours of PR straight.”

A great shot of Guantanamo Bay.

Warnie said they welcomed any audit, and had a crack at those asking questions (which includes, among others, the very panel show he was on).

“It’s really disappointing that people want to come after some good people that have raised a lot of money and made a serious difference to seriously ill and underprivileged children,” he said. “You can all get stuffed if you want to have a go at us for it.”

Speaking as one of those doing the asking, Waleed began wrapping up the question by doing that shuffling papers thing and joking, “Well, we’ll go and tell the independent auditors *we’ll* go and get stuffed, but I guess we’ll see what they ultimately say,” and Warnie fkn bristled.

“You doubting me, mate?”
he said. “You think we’ve got something to hide?”

Still spewin’ about Waleed’s comments hours later, Warnie had another crack on Twitter.

Hot tip, folks.
