Former cricketer and eternal thirst king Shane Warne is going on a live tour to “tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth” about his career, personal life, and anything else he thinks of on the day.
In a press conference streamed to Facebook Live this morning, Warnie announced his ‘Warney Uncut‘ tour, which reading between the lines looks like it’s going to be 2+ hours of him giving HIS side of every story that’s ever been covered by media in the last two decades.
“It’s about getting everything off my chest and telling people exactly what happened,” he said, adding that it’ll go into events “on and off the field, my personal life, we’ll talk a lot about my personal life … Steve Waugh and Adam Gilchrist … the list is very long, everything you can possibly think of, and some thinks you might not think of, will all be in the show.”
In a fairly rambling conference (a sign of things to come), Warnie promised to make the evening entertaining but warned there would be some fairly emotional points. There’s also going to be an opportunity for a lil’ audience Q&A, and reckons the audience will walk away from the evening thinking that “he’s done some silly things, but I think he’s okay.”
Even the profile pic on his new Facebook page – ‘Shane Warne: Warney Uncut‘ – screams a mix of “I’m just a bloke, standing in front of a country, asking them not to judge me” and crowd-sourced photoshop.
But the privilege of hearing Warnie speak doesn’t come cheap: tickets start at $99 and go all the way up to $399, which among other things gives you a chance to “say hello to Warney”. (#BudgetHack: have you tried Tinder?)
He teased the news yesterday with a schmick photo on Instagram, promising some “exciting news” that had the punters worried he was making a bid for politics. Those Australian flags, man. Very #auspol.
Speculation was rife that Warnie was giving politics a crack or else diving further into reality television.

Warnie, on the other hand, seems pretty damn keen to use this tour to propel him into the wider world of entertainment, specifically ‘Suits‘.

“If I was Prime Minister…” he said, actually having a think about it. “First thing I’d do… I’d ring Donald Trump and say mate, I can fix that hair.”
