Finding out you’re pregnant by being told by someone who isn’t a doctor would probably be a pretty baffling ordeal, even moreso if it was on live television.
That’s more or less what happened to Carrie Bickmore on ‘The Project‘ this evening, being congratulated by co-hosts Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar for her third pregnancy, which was a complete surprise to her.
Obviously, she was, in fact, not pregnant, the bit being a joke at the expense of some overly enthusiastic tabloids who did their usual shitty business of publishing wildly spurious and often made-up nonsense about celebs – this time based on the fact that she was drinking water at the Logies and had been apparently been wearing slightly less tight clothes on the show.
Helliar and Aly gave her bouquets of flowers and even some tiny baby shoes while she adamantly stressed that any bump was just from a focaccia she ate earlier:
“Mum, if you’re watching this at home: no, ok, no! I’ve just started sleeping, God, that would be a nightmare.”
