Unapologetically Mansfieldian legends Violent Soho have had just had their certified ripper of a track ‘Covered In Chrome‘ go certified gold – which, at 35,000 sales, is a pretty good effort for a track with a “fuck”-to-time ratio close to that of a Tarantino movie.
The track is off their 2013 record “Hungry Ghost“, which also went gold, being pretty much everyone’s soundtrack for that summer with its combination of upbeat slacker-pop vocals and dirty house party riffs.
The Queensland boys have had a sharp upwards trajectory since then, playing (and subsequently destroying) a whole bunch of sold out tours and dropping almost violently well received follow-up album “WACO“.
The band is also set to tour the US this year for the first time since they moved to New York after they got signed to Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore‘s label Ecstatic Peace.
Probably the perfect time for you to give the track another listen hey:
