Vin Diesel Reveals That The Guardians Will Be In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2 is coming out in 2017, but the good people at Disney know how hard you’re frothing for Groot, Starlord and their heroic mates, and it has now been confirmed that they’ll be showing up in other parts of Marvel‘s cinematic universe.
In a live Facebook Q&A live stream overnight, franchise star Vin Diesel revealed that he and the rest of the Guardians will be popping up in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, to assist in the hard work of guarding and/or avenging stuff.

He didn’t say how or in what capacity they will appear – his corporate overlords may or may not have had snipers strategically positioned in case he threatened to give away any key details – but he seems pretty pumped, saying:

“The Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s very incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting and something that if you were a part of our page, you knew before everybody.”

It’s not clear how substantial their roles will be, but Disney clearly knows it’s onto a good thing. There are rumours that they will also show in Thor: Ragnarok, and indeed, the Guardians cash cow will probably be milked for all it’s worth as the MCU enters its third phase.
For the record, Diesel did not address the alleged beef with Dwayne Johnson, in which his Fast 8 co-star accused him of acting like a “candy ass” on set, but he did say that his co-star Helen Mirren was “nothing but a delight.”
To be honest, we’d be shocked and scandalised to hear that she was anything less.
