Video Emerges of Alleged San Diego Zombie Walk Hit & Run

Overnight, the San Diego Times reported on a fairly terrifying, alleged hit-and-run incident that took place during a zombie walk in the city. A woman sustained a serious arm injury and was taken to hospital after a driver panicked and ran his vehicle through the crowd at the walk, which happens at the same time as, but is not affiliated with the city’s Comic Con.
The driver of the car, a 48-year-old deaf man, says that he and his family sat at a traffic intersection for several minutes, waiting for the walk to pass by, when his children became distressed by the crowd. The man says that he slowly began to roll his car forward, at which point, the crowd became agitated, and several people began attacking his car.
He then drove off, striking a 65-year-old woman in the process. The crowd attempted to chase the driver down, but he stopped upon seeing a police officer. An amateur video has now emerged online, showing the immediate lead-up to the incident:

After the vehicle begins honking its horn, a crowd converges, and a man can be heard yelling what sounds like “flip that car.”
The officer in question made a statement that would seem to support the driver’s version of events, noting that his windshield was smashed during the altercation, and saying that it’s “not likely” the driver will face charges.
