Little-known fact: the famous Vanity Fair Oscar Portrait Studio was nothing but an off-the-cuff experiment three years ago. So great was the response to deliciously intimate shots of the world’s biggest stars – some mere hours after winning a career-making statuette – that it’s now one of the best parts of the whole affair.
This year, photographer Mark Seliger once again took his position inside the dedicated photo studio at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, where the magazine’s after-party was held, to capture Viola Davis, Emma Stone, Ben Affleck, Mahershala Ali, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Sofia Vergara, Joe Manganiello, Katy Perry and a bunch more in their designer threads.
Other after-party highlights: Reese Witherspoon leaving barefoot and Mariah Carey flashing a nipple on the dancefloor.
