Yesterday, Jeremy Meeks caused a sensation on the internet with the release of his mugshot, and was immediately dubbed the hottest felon ever. Well, if you were planning to go boosting cars with this felonious hottie, you’re out of luck – it turns out that Meeks learned of his newfound viral fame from his wife, with whom he has a three-year-old kid.
A TV news crew recently caught up with Meeks/real-life Finnick Odair in prison to discuss his internet notoriety, because that’s a thing that happens in 2014, and he did not disappoint.
“I appreciate that but I just want you to know that this is really not me … I’m not some kingpin,” he said, when told of the attention. Meeks was arrested as part of a gang round-up, but insists that, while he “used” to be a gangster, he’s now clean and trying to stay out of trouble while raising his family. Swoon. Just like a character Ryan Gosling would play.
For my money, the dreamboat who stole Miley Cyrus‘s Maserati recently will always be the number one auto-thieving hottie, but everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.
As a side note, the best part of the video is probably the bit when the newsreader shows off a meme of Meeks as a Calvin Klein model, before nervously backtracking and explaining that memes are “not real”. It’s a wonderful world.
