A True Blood Reboot Is Coming & If We Don’t Get Alexander Skarsgard’s Bare Ass, I’m Boycotting

true blood

True Blood reboot is in the works over at HBO and I simply cannot stress just how exciting this is. Huge, huge, huge, huge, HA-UGEEEEEE!

Variety confirmed the news on Thursday, but sadly confirmed that none of the original cast is set to return (well, as far as we know).

So far, we know that Robert Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale, Supergirl and Glee) and Jami O’Brien (Fear The Walking Dead) are writing and executive producing the reboot, alongside the OG creator and showrunner Alan Ball, who will also work as an executive producer.

When approached by Variety, HBO reps declined to comment on the upcoming reboot, which means we know *pretty* much nothing about it so far.

But if the reboot is anything like the OG horny vampire classic, we should expect a bunch of hot vampires, a whole bunch of nearly-porn sex scenes and, if we’re lucky, Alexander Skarsgard’s bare ass. I mean, it’s truly what we deserve.

True Blood features vampires and other mythical – yet horny – creatures who were able to live amongst humans thanks to a synthetic blood substitute that saved us from being devoured by Alexander Skarsgard.

The original True Blood ran for seven seasons between 2008 and 2014, absolutely devastating fans when they eventually called it quits. The series was based on the Charlaine Harris novel series The Southern Vampire Mysteries of the early 00s that is still very much on my ‘must read’ list, where it has been since 2008.

There’s no word on a release date just yet, or where we’ll be able to watch it here in Australia, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated with all of the horny vampire goodness as more information becomes available.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to re-watch all seven seasons of this glorious tv show in one day.
