Trailer Watch: Ryan Reynolds’ Much Buzzed “Buried”

If you’re not a fan of Ryan Reynolds (he’s been in some truly heinous films), then perhaps this movie isn’t for you. Due mostly to the fact that it’s a 94-minute film in which Reynold’s has just 90 minutes to escape death; as he’s trapped alive inside a box buried deep underground in the desert. Basically, it’s a one man show.

Reynold’s plays US contractor Paul Conroy, who is working in Iraq when he’s kidnapped and awakes to find himself in this rather compromising, claustrophobic situation. Equipped with only a lighter and a mobile phone, Conroy has to try and escape impending death.

“Buried”, directed by Rodrigo Cortes premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has since stirred much hype among movie critics and audiences alike. Reynold’s performance has been referred to as “groundbreaking” and the film as being “a brilliantly twisted suspense thriller that would have made Alfred Hitchcock proud.” Will the film be able to hold our suspense and live up to the hype? Check out the trailer below:

“Buried” will be released in the US on October 8.
