Here’s the first trailer for Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance’s crime thriller The Place Beyond The Pines, which stars people you’d probably like to hug a little too tightly and never let go like Ryan Gosling, Rose Byrne, Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, Ben Mendelsohn and Ray Liotta – if you’re into that sort of thing.
Here’s the gist: The Gos plays a seriously inked pro-motocycle Driver who robs banks (so far, so similar to both Drive and Blue Valentine) to support his newborn son with IRL lady-friend Eva Mendes (adorable heist hot couple alert). B-Coop plays a young upstart rookie cop rising through the ranks who also has a son and a babin’ wife in Rose Byrne. She looks emotional. He looks good with short hair.
When the two collide what results is a “tense generational feud” and what promises to be a “rich dramatic thriller, tracing the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains” and what happens when your fantasies about some of the sexiest actors alive collide in one moment that will both define your life and change you.
Forever.
