Trailer: Channing Tatum Relives His Stripper Past

Male strippers provide a truly pure form of entertainment built upon a foundation of shirtlessness, shrieking and, for a little bit extra, the delight of being exposed to a complete strangers dong. That’s why I’m a little psyched about the movie Magic Mike, which is loosely based on the real-life stripping past of talented beefcake Channing Tatum.

Tatum stars as veteran stripper Mike who takes a young dancer called The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money. If that ridiculous synopsis isn’t enough to entice you, it also has Matthew McConaughey in a leather vest and True Blood werewolf Joe Manganiello without a shirt on. Steven Soderbergh directed it so it can’t be terrible. Check out the trailer:

Magic Mike will be “revealed” in Australian cinemas on 26 July 2012.
