Get ready everyone, it looks like we are about to see Brad Pitt‘s Jerry Maguire moment in Moneyball – a feelgood sports comedy about the real life Oakland Athletics baseball team and its general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) who changed the game through developing a new system of player statistical analysis. If that sounds boring as batshit to you, do not fear because this sucker looks like it has all the necessary ingredients for an a-grade sports movie: a ragtag team of underdogs, romantic game stadium cinematography, the spine tingling sound of applause, a score heavy on soaring strings, and dudes with southern accents and weird haircuts. Add Jonah Hill and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Brad’s offsiders, a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network and Steven Zaillian (Schindler’s List), and you can basically consider this a home run. A home run! Get it?! Baseball terminology you guys!
