Tom Holland, your friendly neighbour Spider-Man and fave human puppy, has this time captured the internet’s attention by taking his very first bite of pumpkin.

That’s right, somehow 22-year-old Holland has never popped a bit of pumpkin in the ol’ hatch. Sure, it isn’t the most popular fruit out there but it’s damn well a favourite in some households especially around this time… in the United States… Thanksgiving… that holiday.
Earlier this month Holland attended an ~exclusive cooking class~ with chef Jessica Largey at Joe Russo‘s Simone restaurant in Los Angeles. However, with it being the time of thanks right about now, the videos and piccies were only uploaded to the web this week.
In the video, Russo introduces Spidey-Man to a Japanese pumpkin – kabocha squash – which Chef Largey transforms into one heck of a fancy Thanksgiving dish mixed in with some kale, passion fruit, and chanterelle mushrooms.
“I think I’ve had pumpkin seeds,” Holland reveals at this point. “But I don’t think I’ve actually eaten a pumpkin.”
“It’s hard that I’m starting with what is probably the best pumpkin I’ve ever had,” he says before digging into the dish and unsurprisingly, he absolutely froths it.
This year Holland, who usually heads home for the holiday period, will experience his first-ever American Thanksgiving thanks to one of his Spider-Man co-stars.
As you can imagine, the star is just a tad busy with one or two Marvel filming commitments at the present moment so heading home will have to wait.
Anywhoo, speaking to the Associated Press about his first-ever Thanksgiving, Holland said:
“I’m going to a friend of mine’s house. He’s in Spider-Man with me, he plays a schoolteacher so I’m going over to his for my first real official Thanksgiving.
“I’m exited, it’s going to be fun.”
Not gonna lie, that looks like a real good plate of food.
