Australian comedian and former triple j breakfast host Tom Ballard is now almost a year removed from leaving a job requiring him to wake up at 4am every day and seven episodes deep into a new appointment enabling him to say he’s watching The Bachelor for “research” purposes.
To celebrate, we caught up with the ever-chill Sydney-based media personality to discuss his new gig on ABC TV’s Reality Check, jokes he regrets and how an abusive text message on the triple j text line inspired him and former colleague Alex Dyson to not be the worst dudes on radio. It truly is heartwarming.
