Tina Fey Teased A Liz Lemon / Leslie Knope Spin-Off, ‘Cos Why The Fuck Not

Tina Fey, mastermind of 30 Rock and countless other modern pop culture cornerstones, has ruled out rebooting the show –  but she has suggested a super-powered team-up with old mate Amy Poehler.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the Tony Awards red carpet – where her Mean Girls musical landed a slew of nominations – Fey binned suggestions 30 Rock is coming back in the form you know and love.

“I don’t know. No, we’re nowhere,” she said of the possibility.

But she did suggest an alternative angle, involving her character Liz Lemon teaming up with Parks & Recreation‘s go-getter Leslie Knope.

“Amy’s willing to do a Parks & Rec reboot. We should just do a Liz Lemon, Leslie Knope spin-off,” Fey said.

Perhaps a documentary series commissioned by Lemon on the humble town of Pawnee? Maybe Knope can graduate to work in some kind of federal telecommunications authority? Who knows!

It’s all speculative RN. Still, if you’re keen to see Fey’s handiwork without waiting for an unlikely mash-up between those two worlds, you best hoof it over to Broadway, where Mean Girls has received some pretty damn good reviews.
