Times Square Car Bomb Linked To South Park Revenge?

New York City’s Times Square district was temporarily shut down this weekend after an unoccupied SUV was reported as suspicious, then later identified as an undetonated car bomb made up of “propane cylinders, fireworks and timing devices”. Thankfully the suspicious vehicle was noticed by Lance Orten an eagle-eyed T-Shirt vendor who smelled gunpowder then noticed smoke emanating from the Nissan Pathfinder SUV before alerting nearby Police.

While no harm came to pass, Police are currently reviewing hours and hours of surveillance footage and investigating a possible link between the car bomb and recent threats made against South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The duo recently received death threats from a group called Revolution Muslim after depicting the Prophet Muhammed in a giant bear suit. Police note that the offices of Viacom, the parent company of South Park’s network home Comedy Central, was in close proximity to the car bomb and may have been the intended target of the blast.
