Frankenweenie is a kid’s movie about a boy who uses his science kit to bring his beloved dog, Sparky, back to life after getting hit by a car. It’s a film that started out as a short and, much like Sparky, director Tim Burton has brought back to life as a 3D black and white stop-motion feature film. A black and white kid’s version of Frankenstein meets Pet Cemetery? Yes sir.
The film is voiced by regular Burton collaborators including Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau and Martin Short. It lands in cinemas on 5 October and it looks pretty damn wonderful.
