Universal Is Making A New ‘Doom’ Movie & Fuck Please Don’t Ruin It Again

The last time classic first-person shooter Doom was turned into a movie, it was fucking awful. For starters, the main concepts of the game, of which there are not many (shooting demons from Hell on Mars), were so loosely used it had more in common than Resident Evil than Doom.

According to a post by actress Nina Bergman, a new movie adaptation of the famous video game is in the works with Universal right now.

There’s not a lot in the way of finer details right now, but we know it’s happening, it has a “super cool director” and is filming in Bulgaria. All of this already sounds like it’s going to be better than 2005’s pile of shit featuring DwayneThe RockJohnson, and even he thinks that movie sucked.

“And remember, I starred in the stinker Doom so I have lived thy curse,” he wrote in a tweet about the positive reviews for his latest movie, Rampage.

Look, I’m trying really hard not to make this yarn about how bad the last Doom movie was, but fuck, I’m really struggling here. I mean, the only thing it had in common with the game was that it was set on Mars. Jesus Christ, it’s not hard to add in what is almost the only other important element, which is DEMONS that come from HELL.

But no, they had to go with some half-baked bullshit about a science facility “creating” monsters with some kind of stupid virus. FUCK.

I’m sorry about that, I just need you to know how much I hated that movie. But hey, Nina reckons the script is way better this time around.

It would be extremely hard to produce something worse than the original, so my hopes are high for this project. Given the success of 2016’s Bethesda reboot, I’m really hoping they base the upcoming movie on that at the very least.
