The Very Dead Frank Grimes Is Coming Back To ‘Simpsons’, Long Live Grimey

There has ne’er been a cameo character that made more of an impact than Homer Simpson‘s sort-of nemesis, Frank ‘Grimey’ Grimes
Everyone kinda felt for Grimey. Grimey had had a a shithouse life. He’d lost everything, and built ihimself back up, and put himself through college and become kinda successful.
And he couldn’t stand the fact that *some people* just got given everything on a silver platter, when others had to work their ass off for every little thing. He was all of us.
We’ve been left with Grimey‘s message of the pitfalls of modern capitalism lingering in our brainholes for the past 19 years (yup, 19 years), and we’ve never gotten real closure.
Until now.
‘The Simpsons’ 600th episode will see Frank Grimes, voiced by superhuman voice actor Hank Azaria, return in all his American Dream-related glory/rage.
The episode, which is a ‘Treehouse of Horror’ episode (in case you were wondering how on earth he could return after frying himself to death with high-voltage cables while impersonating Homer) will apparently feature a range of different ‘enemies’ of The Simpson family.
Here’s a lil sneak peek:
Executive producer Al Jean gave some insight into the ‘enemies’ of the iconic cartoon family, saying to Entertainment Weekly:
“They’re forming a sinister squadron of Simpsons enemies to try to kill the Simpsons.

And [Grimes is] certainly madder at Homer than ever.”
RIP Grimey, forever in our hearts. We will honour your legacy the only way we know how – by bringing you back from the dead in a show that perhaps should’ve ended a few years after yourself.
The episode ‘Treehouse of Horror XXVII‘ will air in the US on October 16.
