The Rock’s ‘Fast 8’ Blow-Up Was Because Vin Diesel Slagged Off His Acting

In case you haven’t already heard, your two Dads are fighting.
Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reportedly butted heads on the set of ‘Fast 8‘ in a biff that got so heated it needed to go to mediation in order for the shoot to actually get done without any claret being spilled.
The Rock, who initially took the feud public, has since apparently made nice and sorted everything out. But the lingering question remains: What on earth caused these two seemingly bloody nice dudes to come to grief?
The answer, so the story goes, seems to be that Vin Diesel was acting like a bit of a prick.
Eternal citer of “unnamed sourcesTMZ has the hot scoop on the hot-bed Hollywood issue of the month, and it all boils down to Vin’s attitude on-set.
Apparently, big Vinny D isn’t a morning person, and would often arrive to set 30 minutes to an hour late to shoot, largely because he was in his trailer and refused to come out. And call times at 7am on a Monday? He hated them. Absolutely hated them. So the production was forced to shift the Monday start time back to 10am to accomodate.
More to that, Vin’s producer title apparently gave him an inflated sense of importance during filming, and he would often goad people – including the Rock himself – by criticising their acting.
That’s Vin Actual Diesel, criticising the acting abilities of other real-life human beings. Vin Diesel criticising someone’s acting whilst he’s performing Vin Diesel-standard acting is a bit like a tourist trying to correct a lifeguard’s stroke while drowning.
‘Course this is the same Vin Diesel who was earnestly convinced that ‘Furious 7‘ deserved to win the Best Picture Oscar, so make of all this what you will.
Who knows where this feud will go from here. Will it end? Will there be blood? Will The Rock’s apparent mass-professionalism take the lemons of this whole clusterfuck and turn ‘Fast 8‘ into subsequent lemonade?
All we know is that ‘Fast 8‘s release date is suspiciously close to next year’s WrestleMania.
