The Real Housewives of Melbourne Were Too Real for the U.S.A.

The Real Housewives Of Melbourne, otherwise known as Gina Liano And Her Ungrateful Hangers-On, debuted on American television overnight, and left many viewers baffled, bemused and generally questioning what the hell kind of Down Under knifey-spooney nonsense they had just witnessed.
The show, which wrapped its first season here several months ago, is running on Bravo, the spiritual home of the Real Housewives franchise. It airs at midday, when most of its target audience are hooking into their second glass of chardonnay as the oxy starts to kick in, and reactions were delightfully snarky.

The stars’ choice in cosmetics copped a shellacking, which may be a little ironic considering that’s likely how it’s applied:

Of course, there were many more who loved the show. Gina herself is already developing herself quite a following, and is probably rocketing towards the number one Halloween costume choice for gay dudes this year.
