The Creator Of ‘Adventure Time’ Has A New Netflix Show That Looks Like A Horny Acid Trip

'Adventure Time' creator

We interrupt our usual coverage on the coronavirus pandemic to bring you news of a new adult animated series from Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward. It’s called The Midnight Gospel, and it’s… not what I expected after Adventure Time. I have no idea what’s going on in the teaser trailer.

The series is co-created by Duncan Trussell of the Duncan Trussell Family Hour podcast, and tells the tale of Clancy, a space-caster who uses a multiverse simulator to interview beings living in other worlds. I will follow this with the teaser trailer’s opening line: “I stare out at this majestic scene. Here we see the cycle of life. There are beautiful, wondrous worlds full of intelligent beings with stories to tell. And I’m going to interview them and put my interview online and make a bunch of money so suck my dick!”

I’m just going to skip to the teaser now.

Me after watching the trailer.

Netflix / The Midnight Gospel

Anyway, The Midnight Gospel hits Netflix April 20. Looks like solid self-isolation content if you ask me.

In some other news, Netflix has announced it will be removing the entire Shrek film series on April 11th. Blame licensing agreements and all that. Shrek has appeared on and off Netflix for as long as I have had it, so this is hardly surprising news. But the picture Netflix used to share the news made me giggle. And we all need a giggle in these troubling times.

I can hear this image. I can hear it.

Bye, bye!
