‘The Lonely Island’ Are Back On Land & Producing A New Sketch Comedy Show

With Andy Samberg currently starring in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘, it’s understandable that you’ve been feeling a little void of red hot ‘The Lonely Island‘ sketch content lately.
Good news! It’s come out today that The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone) will be producing a new show for a new sketch comedy show on Fox.
Titled ‘Party Over Here’, the sketch show is gonna be a rival for SNL (which is ironic because TLI found recognition for their SNL shorts), starting half an hour before the variety-giant’s time slot.
The lads gave a statement about the show, which is possibly one of the greatest, truest statements we’ve seen in a while (and bodes well for the show, tbh):
“When we first conceived this idea, we thought of it as a spin-off of Empire. We failed miserably … now it’s much more of a sketch comedy show.

In an age where most millennials don’t even know what a TV is, we are really excited to be getting into the TV business.”

‘Party Over Here’ starts on Fox, March 12. No word on Aussie times yet, but we’ll keep ya posted.
