The Jungle Book Is About To Get A Little More Bill Murray

Look, you win. You’ve been asking for ages for Disney to reboot The Jungle Book as a live action/animated hybrid, for some reason, and now it’s happening. You also wanted Bill Murray to voice Baloo and now that’s happening too. It’s weird that you wanted that, but you win! Congratulations!

According to an announcement from Disney, Murray will appear alongside Christopher Walken, who’ll play King Louie the orangutan, and Giancarlo Esposito (aka Gus Fring) as kindly wolf pack leader Akela, all of which you were pushing hard for. It makes for a weirdly sinister line-up of voice actors, but you were very clear about what you wanted.

The rebooted Jungle Book will see release late next year. It’ll also star Scarlett Johansson as Kaa the python, Idris Elba as Shere Khan and Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, as well as 10-year-old Neel Sethi as Mowgli. I hope you’re happy!
