The ‘Jump Street’ Team Are Set To Make A Stand-Alone Han Solo Movie

The corporate behemoth that is Disney has officially taken over the Star Wars franchise, which means that there will be a lot of galaxy far far away-related stuff flying at you in the next couple of years.

This morning, there’s at least one good reason to be optimistic about the coming deluge of Star Wars spin-offs. Actually, there are two reasons: Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, the writing, directing and producing team have signed on “to helm a movie that will focus on a young Han Solo.”
Of all the directors working in Hollywood right now, Lord and Miller’s ability to blend action and comedy and turn it into box office gold is pretty much unrivalled.
The pair directed both 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, as well as the critically-acclaimed and commercially super successful The Lego Movie, and the Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs films.
Given their existing relationship with Chris Pratt, who is already linked to another iconic Harrison Ford character in Indiana Jones, it is now appropriate to begin speculating wildly about his potential involvement.
The stand-alone Han Solo movie is currently scheduled for a 2018 release, so there’s still a lot of time to speculate. Meanwhile, ICYMI, here’s the second teaser for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens:
